NWA and NWA Supplier Shipping Services

**All wood Pallets and containers being sent to NWA, including domestic and international shipments, must comply with the International Standard for Wood Packaging. Any re-crating and palletization must comply with the International Standard for Wood Packaging and will be charged back to the vendor as non-compliance. *Pieces moving via FedEx Express have maximum size of 119 inches in length and 165 inches in length and girth (Length plus twice the height pus twice the width). If any piece in the shipment exceeds these dimensions and/or weight, contact nwa_trans@nwa.com.

Notes

1. The carriers and service levels listed above are the only authorized providers for Northwest Airlines. Vendors that ship via carriers/services other than those listed above will be billed the difference between the rates of the actual and approved carriers plus a $25.00/shipment administrative fee.
2. Northwest will not accept vendor invoices with "prepaid and add" freight charges.
3. Northwest Airlines is self-insured; vendors should not request additional insurance and/or declare a value. Insurance charges will be billed back to the vendor.
4. Reference to be used On All Shipments:
   
   • Purchase vendors must use the NWA Purchase Order (PO) as reference on the  freight carrier's shipping document (airbill, Bill of Lading, etc.)
   • Repair vendors must indicate the Service Order (SO) as reference on the freight carrier's shipping document (airbill, Bill of Lading, etc.)
   • Maintenance vendors must reference the tail # of the aircraft from which the part was removed on the freight carrier's shipping document (airbill, Bill of Lading, etc.)

5. All freight charges must "Third Party Bill to" using the account number listed. Vendors should indicate the bill-to address for the freight charges as:

6. Northwest Airlines personnel requesting the shipment must use "E" preceeding their 6-digit employee number in reference field number 1.  Example: "E123456". Do not use a User Number.
7. Vendors that do not include the appropriate reference information will be billed a $25.00/shipment administrative fee.

9. "Critical" shipments are those for AOG situations or issues that may affect the on-time operation of a flight.
10. Contact the Northwest Airlines Logistics Department at nwa_trans@nwa.com for the appropriate FedEx account number. Include the Northwest Airlines PO, SO or Tail# number in your request.
